Friday's Fancies [Date Night]
Happy Friday, lovely ladies!
It's that time again.....time to share my outfit of the week for Friday's Fancies! This week's theme is date night. What a great theme, considering this time of year is the best for dates. There are so many things to choose from-concerts, restaurants with patios, festivals, and cookouts!
With the summer right around the corner, I paired a beautiful skirt with a fun, crisp white shirt. I also added an ever popular envelope clutch--who doesn't want one of these right now?
My favorite part of the outfit? These shoes!! I am obsessed with this style of pump. This particular pair is from Calypso, have you seen their shoes and clothing? Amazing. I wish I owned just about every piece. Their shoes are just perfect for summertime.
If you follow me on Twitter then you've seen the pair below recently, too. I just think that cut out on the side of the heel is just so sexy!

Things That Make Me Smile
After a few rainy days, we've finally be blessed with a pretty day here in Nashville. It may just be me, but this week just seems so slow and.....unwanted. I just want to be home, cuddled up with the boy, and reading a new book. Or sitting on a patio, soaking up the sun with our pup.
I found a few cute things this week that made me smile, so I though I'd share with you!
I mixed in a few other things that already made me smile, even before this week (can you guess which ones?).

The Breakfast Club
With the boy out of town, I feel a little lost this morning. No, not the way you're thinking.....but with breakfast! Ryan always makes the best breakfast on Saturday.
So today, well, it's just not the same.
My coffee and apple fritter aren't nearly as good as the usual...but they'll get me by!
So today, well, it's just not the same.

Pastel Party
[Insert Sigh Here]I'm SO relieved that it's the weekend! Aren't you? I'm also pretty happy to be relaxing at home with Netflix and a quiet apartment.
Does that make me sound old? I hope not!
I had a great time picking this week's Friday's Fancies pieces out. With weddings, showers, parties, and lots of fun warm weather activities coming up, this week's theme was perfect for brainstorming for one of those future outfits!
Do you wear pastels? I am all about wearing the latest trendy pieces, but I think I like them better paired with something substantial...hence the black shoes and dark denim.

Are you feeling fancy today? Be sure to check out the rest of the Friday's Fancies outfits and join in!

What I'm Loving [RandomMix]
I haven't done a What I Love Wednesday in ages! I'm thinking that today is the perfect day to participate :)
---------------
I'm LOVING that I found some yummy Easter candy super on sale this week. Now my office candy jar is full and colorful!
I'm LOVING this quote that Erin posted on Twitter earlier today.
[Go check her out--she's funny!]
I'm LOVING that while the boys are out of town this weekend for a bachelor party I get to spend time with my girls! A bridal shower followed by a low key night out are just what I need!
I'm LOVING that the weather cooled down just a tad. I love cuddling and it's hard to do when it's ridiculously hot all the time!
I'm LOVING this silly GIF I saw online earlier.
I'm LOVING my new iPhone! I am so happy to have one that works 100% again! And, it doesn't hurt that I'm on Verizon's network now (I can already tell how much faster everything is)!
---------------
What are you loving today? I'm linking up with Jamie today...so go check out the other What I'm Loving Wednesday posts and join in!

Thrifty Tuesday [Maxi]
This week's Thrifty Tuesday item is something I've been drooling over for, oh, about 3 days. Ha! I'll admit, I've never been a huge fan of long dresses because, well, they aren't ever long enough! I have some mildly long legs, and I hate nothing more than wearing something that's too short. Too short pants are the worst! Second is definitely long dresses that just aren't long enough... But! Recently I've seen several that are exactly the right length!
I've almost been convinced to buy one, especially after I saw a super
cute gray maxi skirt paired with a coral tee.[Swoon]
The best part about these skirts? They're all under $50! Some are even closer to $25!
---------------------
What's something you're lusting after for Spring and Summer? I have stocked up on brights/corals, so I'm onto searching for the next sweet item for next season. What are your suggestions?

You never know what's around the corner...
"You never know what is around the corner unless you peek. Hold someone’s hand while you do it…you’ll feel less scared.. You can’t do this alone. Plus, it’s much more fun to succeed and fail with other people. You can blame them when things go wrong. Take your risks now, as you grow older you become more fearful and less flexible…literally. Try to keep your mind open to possibilities and your mouth closed on matters you don’t know about. Limit your ‘always’ and your ‘nevers’. Continue to share your heart with people, even if it’s been broken."
I found this quote earlier today that I had saved back in July of last year. Even though I haven't seen it since then, it still hit home the same way it did the first time I read it (I bet it still will when I see it in the future too). For as long as I can remember I have hoped that I can always live life to the fullest, and to not let fears and risks scare me. I think it's actually my biggest fear......that I won't live life to the fullest.
Over the last few months I have been really hard on myself over a few things. I have always had very high standards of myself and what I expect from my life. For the most part, I've been consumed with reaching goals for the last, oh, 7 years.
[You know, when you realized in high school that you really want to go to college and become something? Then you have college, where you are stressed about making the right decisions...and then when you don't make the right ones you have to make up for the "bad" ones. Then you graduate and try to live the dream you thought up while you were still in school.
Have you been there?]
So, now that I'm out of school sometimes I feel a little......lost. I have goals, but life isn't as fast paced as it used to be. At least, not as fast paced in the areas that I wish it was. I feel like time flies in my personal life, but it's creeping by in my professional life. I always thought I had reasonable goals, a reasonable timeline, and realistic dreams. Well, like with most things in life, it isn't going quite as planned. Don't get me wrong-I have an amazing life and a good job, but it gets me down sometimes when I start to dwell on where I am in comparison to where I want to be. I am constantly brainstorming ways to improve, alter, or entirely redo my 'plan'. [Do you ever find yourself doing this? What do you do to kick yourself in the butt and make it stop?]
Lately I've been working on just accepting where I am right now. I know that the last few months haven't been fun for me, even though I've been doing awesome things. I let myself get down about the few things that aren't perfect, and I miss the big picture. I don't want my life to fly by me, just to realize that I cared too much about the unimportant things, and not enough about the things that really matter.
I think themoral of the story message I want to share with you is this: take it easy on yourself sometimes, especially if you're fully aware of what's going on in your life and you have good life goals. Sometimes you have to take a step back, enjoy the moment, and not worry about the rest. Because with hard work and focus, you'll get where you're supposed to. And even if you don't know where that place is or when you'll arrive, at least you'll enjoy the journey there!

Are you an obsessive worrier [like me]? I hope not!
If you are, how do you kick the feeling when it creeps up?
