Blogger Field Trip : Story of My Life

Better late than never, right?? Yesterday I talked about catching up and I wasn't kidding! I had a ton to do and when I got home, it didn't get any better so I'm still a teeny bit behind. Regardless, here goes!
Today we're visiting Jenni from Story of My Life. She's another blogger who has inspired me to keep up with my writing and posting. She’s consistent (it's important!) funny (her introduction includes words like sarcasm and sass-of course I was hooked from day one!), stylish and she can take a mean picture (on either side of the camera)!
Jenni blogs about everything from home decorating to Twilight (and everything in between!). While I enjoy reading most of my favorite blogger’s stories, her short ones about her neighbor are pretty funny. She’s also got a really cute love story--believe me, you want to read this one : )
I love her style!
Jenni is also an inspiration to me because I see her meeting her fellow bloggers and having a blast! She does blates (here, here and here) and gets to know the girls she is friends with in the blogging world! Of course I want to do that too, seeing as one of my main goals of blogging is to meet new people and build friendships!
P.s. Not only does she have a seriously cute blog, but she also has an Etsy shop where she shares some of her pretty photos!

One of her beautiful photos for sale in her Etsy shop!
Be sure to hop over and check out her blog! She always has great reviews of her sponsors too, so maybe you'll find more than one new blog to read : )

Blogger Field Trip~Etsy Christmas Cards

As I mentioned last week, I love love love Christmas cards! I think that personalized cards are darn cute, but I won't be getting into that business until I have a family. Until then I'll be taking advantage of the adorable cards that are available EVERYWHERE you look. Etsy is our Blogger Field Trip location this week!
I've grabbed a few of my favorite card styles from around the Etsy community. These are super cute and there are SO many to choose from. I always have a hard time picking out my favorite box of cards each year---but if you but cards on Etsy, you could easily mix and match all of your favorites! Not to mention purchasing from Etsy is great for supporting small or local businesses!

Where do you buy your cards? Have you ever ordered Christmas cards (or any cards) from Etsy?

Blogger Field Trip : {long distance loving}

This week we're visiting a blogger that has inspired me to be a better, more active blogger!
Alison a.k.a. {AV} over on long distance loving is creative, beautiful, and super friendly-which helps in the blogger world!
See, I told you so!
In her own words, Alison is "blogging to find ways to love from afar and to encourage those who are braving long distance". She features stories of long distance love [here, here, here, and here]. I can really respect her stance on the difficult long distance relationship. She and her now husband did it for three years! And in case you didn't know, Ryan and I did it for 3 years as well (and I'm happy to say, we made it to the other side!).

Alison is also the host to the ever fabulous Friday's Fancies, so you know she's on top of her style game! She, like me, loves clothes so she gives us all an opportunity to meet up and share our best outfit ideas...without spending a penny! She writes guest posts about friendships, fashion and why she blogs. She even comes up with awesome event ideas like Blogger Blitz! Seriously, why wouldn't you want to read her blog? Over the last few weeks I've purchased a ticket to meet up with fellow bloggers in my area, shared my handpicked outfits on her site and have even connected with some new blogging friends!

She shares travel stories and cute Instagram photos!
Go check out her blog and participate in her link ups....I promise you'll love it!

Blogger Field Trip : A Blonde Ambition

Here we are, starting another week. Does anyone else feel like its still August? I can hardly believe it’s almost November…almost the end of 2012! (Speaking of that…I need to post by 12 by 2012 list…only 68 days to go!)
Today is the second installment of my Blogger Field Trip "series" :) Today we're going to visit a blogger, Leslie, that has a lot to offer her readers by way of makeup tutorials, clothing inspiration, and cute hair tips!
As a girl that didn't grow up with sisters or many cousins near my age, I really had to figure out my style on my own. I've learned how to use others as inspiration and encouragement. Leslie is great about sharing fashion photos, ideas and tips (she even does personal styling as a side job-check it out here).
Leslie is a (very) recent newlywed so she has wedding info too! Check out her blog here and get some pointers for your style!
Isn't she adorable?

Would you take your readers on a field trip? If so, where would you take them?

Let's Start A New Monday Tradition!

We all hate Monday for some reason or another, right?  The way I see it, I like to do fun things on Mondays to help get myself through.  Going out for ice cream, watching a good movie, or going somewhere fun after work. :)

So, today seems like the perfect day to start a new blog tradition here at The Sweet Life!

My idea is to use this as a way to help build up the blogging community that I'm a part of (and hopefully become a part of a community I'm not a part of now)!  I've decided that each Monday I will post about a blog that has a great author, talks about a good cause, spotlights a fun event or whatever catches my attention.  I want to share my favorite parts of the blogging world with you....and I want you to share your favorite parts with me!

This week I am going to share the blog that I have been following the longest. I stumbled upon this one about 2 years ago and actually kept up with it by putting the link in my favorites folder and visiting every now and then. Eventually I found more blogs so I learned how to use Google Reader and added this blog first!

Meet Megan over at In This Wonderful Life!
She is a new Mom to twins! She has an amazing story about making it to motherhood that you should read (grab a tissue first!). I started reading in 2009 and haven't stopped since. Megan is a crafter, a shopper, a great baby shower host and a huge Arkansas Razorbacks fan. Oh, yea--she has a super cute pup named Elton  too : ) Megan talks about any and everything so there's always something to chat about. Go over and check out her cute blog!

Aren't they cute?
What do you think? Would you take your readers on a field trip? If so, where would you take them?
