{Currently} Fall Randoms

My {currently} list....things that have been on my mind lately.

One day Ryan and I will have kiddos. Babies. We will make HUMANS. A strange realization.

I made a few new friends over the last few weeks. It restored my belief in humanity making friends outside of college/during adulthood.

It's that time of year again. Once it hits about 8:30 I'm in my favorite sweater leggings. I love fall!

The Vampire Diaries and Hart of Dixie are back on. These fall shows are a few other reasons fall is my favorite.

We finished our Dave Ramsey / Financial Peace University class tonight! We have made a huge step in the right direction and feel like we're really building a strong foundation for our marriage. Heck. Yes.

My most recent haircut is the best one of my whole entire life. I kid you not!

Who else loves going to Whole Foods? I love it for several reasons, including getting all the stuff to make Spring Rolls this week....but I never, ever visit WF without a stop at the bakery. #Noms

Weekend Recap ~ Everything Fall!

I've been putting off my weekend recap post for the last few days because my favorite pictures are in my locked away iPhone files. After several attempts to gain access to those files, I finally decided to give up hope for the time being. I will us the photos that I took with my normal camera and leave the others out (boo).
BUT on a positive note, at least I have these other photos!

My aunt, Mary, came into town this past weekend and we did lots of fall things that I've been waiting to do : ) I left work early on Friday and she got into town around lunch time. First things first, we went shopping! Naturally, I'm going to take advantage of having a girl around! We mainly shopped at GAP, Forever 21 and Marshall's. I found a cute pair of flats at GAP but I really hit the jackpot at Forever 21. They had all of their clearance Buy One Get One Free...I knew that the B1G1 sale was going on, but I wasn't very excited before I got there. Let's just say that I quickly changed my mind once I saw that the items on sale weren't your typical
thrown-to-the-side, left-over-from-last-season kinda clearance--it was loads of fall sweaters, cute jackets, and a ton of cute tops. Needless to say, I spent forever (no pun intended) trying sweater after sweater on. I finally decided on 6 sweaters, a sweater dress and a long sleeve shirt. I threw in a pair of sunglasses and some earrings (regular price) and still only spent around $60. I think I'm set for sweaters this season : )

Saturday was beautiful! We went to a local harvest festival and then took Mary to the downtown square area to show her around.
Someone had a peppermint in their mouth during this picture!
One of my new sweaters ;)
There was a book rummage-sale.
I've been looking for an old fan to restore for a while now and while we were walking around the square we finally found the one for us in a little ol' shop! Most old fans that we've seen have been in the $75-$90 range, which just wasn't for us. We waited it out and found a really good deal! The fan was priced at a mere $20 (!!!) and Ryan managed to talk the guy down to just $10! I couldn't believe it! We've cleaned it up and Ryan has un-mucked the motor so it will actually work. I plan on sanding and painting it this weekend. Can't wait to see the final result!
After that we finally got to pick pumpkins out! We went to a local nursery and picked out our favorites (yes, I picked 2 so I could carve one for my pup!), along with a jug of apple cider. Yes, I love fall and I love going all out.
While my aunt was here she made the most delicious pot of chili for us! It was so nice to have the home cooking come to us in TN : ) We carved our pumpkins and enjoyed some more homemade food cheesecake and pumpkin roll....and hot apple cider! Hahaha We were all ready for bed early that night after a long day and lots of yummy food.
Mary's, Ryan's, Mine and Tiger's pumpkins!
Late Saturday night we were invited to the TN Titans game on Sunday. Naturally, we jumped at the chance to go! Little did we know, the seats were phenomenal! We had a great view and were able to watch the terrible game up close and personal. Hahaha The team played terribly, but it was still fun to see the team play and hang out with our friends, Mike and Julie.
Thanks for having us, Mike and Julie!

They had boy and girls lines....which I learned after I already stood through
one line! Super frustrating, because I missed Luke Bryan singing the
national anthem while standing in line.
Our view from the amazing seats.
Great day for football!
They had pink breast cancer awareness posters on each seat...great job!
I know it's a little late, but I hope everyone had a great weekend!
The weekend is almost here again!

P.s. I'm linking up with Casey Wiegand for her October Follow Fest/Blog Hop. If you found me through that post, thanks for stopping by!

Is It Friday Yet?

No Thrifty Tuesday post this week! I have been super busy with work and enjoying my evenings with Ryan. He's taking some time off between switching jobs, so I want to make sure I get in some quality time before the new, somewhat more demanding job starts.

On top of having a busy busy work week, I've had some other issues weighing on my mind, so I feel like this week has already been 5 days long...and it's only Wednesday morning! I reached a level yesterday that caused tears and required hugs. Lucky for me, Ryan is there for me and knows exactly how to "fix it". He treated me to Sweet CeCe's for dinner and a trip to Barnes & Noble....and maybe to the newest issue of Real Simple : ) Of course I feel 10 times better today after talking it over with him and sifting through some stuff. I always feel better and really thankful after moments like that.
Today is full of more work events and an after work get-together. I hope the rest of this week flies by because I'm really looking forward to this weekend-I'm leaving early on Friday and the timing couldn't be better. Seeing my aunt this weekend, finally enjoying some true fall weather, and partaking in some traditional fall activities...harvest festival day, picking and carving pumpkins, enjoying delicious cold weather food...are all in my immediate future : )
I hope everyone is having a great day so far and a much better week than I am
(although it IS looking up)!

Fall Favorites Blog Swap Reveal

Remember the Fall's Favorite Finds blog swap I participated in
Well, it's time for the reveal!

It was hosted by Caroline, Molly, and Matey

I was partnered up with Elizabeth over at Running with the Raccas. I had a great time chatting with her and getting to know her a little through email and by reading her blog.
Thanks so much for the fall goodies Elizabeth!
I received Elizabeth's box on my birthday (good timing girl!), so needless to say I was beyond excited to open it and see what goodies awaited me :)
Oops, I turned the nail polish around :(
Using the new fall themed plate for my birthday cookies!

In case you couldn't tell, I received a sweet card, a new fall color nail polish (Revlon Matte Suede in Emerald), a cinnamon candle, a fall themed plate and a Starbucks card! I used most of it immediately, but I'm saving the Starbucks card for a rainy day!
I'm too chicken to post a picture of my nails, so I snagged
this one from MakeUpAlley

She's a super sweet person who likes to cook and craft (just like me!). You can check out her reveal here :)

Can't wait to see what everyone else got in their swap!
I had a great time and can't wait for the next one :)

P.s. Check out the other swaps here.

Thrifty Tuesday ~ Fall Boots

Another Thrifty Tuesday here!
While out on our window shopping spree this past weekend, I tried on a pair of outrageously expensive and equally beautiful boots at Bink's Outfitters
[Enter butterflies in the stomach here]
I feel in love.
These boots were so comfy and fit so well
(I fit into a 9.5 instead of a 10, which MADE my day).
Leather Ugg Channing Boot in Chocolate
Found Here for $295

They also had these, which were very similar, but not quite as fitted through the calf. They were very pretty, but not quite as perfect as the others :)
Leather Ugg Amberlee Boot in Espresso
Found here for $295

Okay, okay--enough about the expensive, gorgeous boots. Onto my thrifty finds of the week!
Merona Manette Double Buckle Tall Boots in Brown
Found here for $39.99

Merona Magaska Comfort Riding Boot in Brown
Found here for $39.99
Women's Zippy Riding Boots in Brown
Found here for $39.99
Mossimo Supply Kachiri Leather Americana Boots in Taupe
Found here for $49.99
Mossimo Supply Kayanna Riding Boots in Brown
Found here for $32.00 (sale!)
Buckle Fold-Over Heel Boot in Brown
Found here for $50.00

I found these cuties the other day and I was surprised by how much I like them...naturally I found a comparable identical pair on the Target website!
Very Volatile Twain Boot in Black
Found here on the Piperlime website for $59.50
MkLuk Kloe Wedge in Black
Found here on the Target website for $29.99
Great deals, right??
Here's to happy shopping and finding some great deals!

P.s. Get prepared for an itty bitty rant. Does anyone else get frustrated when they look at websites and they see a "Girl on a Budget" section and all of the pieces listed are priced well over $100? I mean, yes, I love to browse the expensive sites and even buy a really nice piece every now and then but over $100 for each item?? Consider me confused. Hopefully I'm not the only one out there trying to shop like a normal person, with a normal budget! Anyway, this is my main inspiration behind my Thrifty Tuesday posts...affordable items for real people! :)

Fall Weekend Recap

Via Pinterest
Happy Sunday! Wow, this weekend flew by! As much as I wish the weekend was longer, I still enjoyed myself this while it lasted :)
Saturday started off with a little sleeping in followed by one of Ryan's (usual) Saturday morning breakfasts. Waking up to the smell of coffee and knowing that there are pancakes in your future make for a happy girl! We spent some time around the house for a while...but it didn't last long because we were antsy to get out and enjoy the amazing weather. We decided that Franklin would be our destination for the day and Ryan's parents, our companions :)
The trees are starting to change!
Pretty countryside
We met up and visited a bunch of little shops, walked around and eventually stopped for lunch at Puckett's. I'd been to the Puckett's on the other side of town, but not the one in Franklin....their BBQ  and sweet tea won me over and I plan on going back again!
After lunch we spent a long time wandering around antique malls and little businesses (looking for a bar cart for our place). After the boys were tired of antique shopping, we headed back home and spent the evening hanging around the house.
Ryan made a new friend :)
Loving all of the cute fall decorations...and the boy :)
I started feeling bad (attach of the allergies) on Saturday night so I definitely slept in a little on Sunday too. We have spent the day cleaning, grocery shopping and even crafting! I finally decided on a fall wreath! I made one using some artificial flowers, thin wire and a twig wreath.
This sums up my weekend :)

Another part of the seasonal decorations around the house!
I also made a quick and cute print for the dining room. I threw some tissue paper and a quote on card stock into a frame I had laying around and voila! A cute, cheap, and easy piece to add some personality to the dining room :)
