Thrifty Tuesday {Fashion Cents}

Today I'm taking a different approach to Thrifty Tuesday. I've decided to recreate an outfit that I'm obsessed with {and} I'll show you an affordable way to do it yourself!!

I saw this outfit in person the other day and I can't get it out of my head. I am in LOVE.
It's also making me super antsy to get back to wearing normal outfits+shoes.
via
I decided to use items from Forever 21 to recreate the outfit in order to keep the costs down as much as possible. Also, Forever 21 is easily accessible for most people. PLUS they usually have a few different versions of each item, so you'll have some freedom to find pieces that match your personality the best!

Outfit #1
This outfit would be great for a girls night, business casual office, a weekend day date, or even church! You can create this whole look for under $85. Also, each of these items can be used again & again in your wardrobe!
Dress // Shirt // Tights // Boots
Outfit #2
Look two has it's own flair, with the gingham print shirt. This outfit would be great for work, date night, girls night or even tailgating!
Dress // Shirt // Tights // Boots

What do you think? I love that you can accessorize each of these looks in tons of ways!
Which look do you like best?

Thrifty Tuesday {Honeymoon}

The other day, Neely tweeted about 6pm.com and how they have super affordable prices. Well, I've seen (and been to) 6pm before, but I hadn't thought about them in a long time. I had to fix that on the double--and I'm glad I did!

I went to their site and found some super adorable dresses. They have tons that are affordable, and they'd be perfect for any summer activity. Not only that, but they have a bunch of dresses that are perfect for vacation....or a honeymoon!

This week's Thrifty Tuesday is all about honeymoon dresses.
All dresses are under $25!

Thrifty Tuesday [Love Is In The Air]

With wedding plans, wedding dress shopping, others getting married, and lots of babies coming along it's fitting to say that love is in the air!

And appropriately so, I have been lusting after some cute heart adorned shirts. So, for this week's Thrifty Tuesday I've put together a handful of fashionable, yet affordable, heart themed shirts.

red heart // blue with arrows // black sequin // love heart // gold glitter
Which one is your favorite? I am really digging the stripped tie front one with the red heart. It would pair perfectly with shorts and a cute hat, or skinnies and flats for a date.

What have you been lusting over lately?
I've recently started my hunt for wedding shoes...any suggestions?
Happy Tuesday!

Thrifty Tuesday [Short & Sweet]

Happy Tuesday lovely ladies!
via
For the sake of not counting down the days 'til the weekend, I'll just say that today is going to be an awesome Tuesday. It doesn't sound as good as saying we're almost half way to the weekend though, does it? Hahah Well, I'm going to try to enjoy today and not get too excited about the weekend just yet.

This week's Thrifty Tuesday post is all about cute shorts. I wear dresses a ton during the summer, but sometimes you just need to wear shorts! I know that I wear the heck out of my 3 favorite pairs--I dress them up as well as down. All of these beauties are well under $50, with most under $30!

I'm loving the cuffed look right now, and I can always go for a new pair of tie shorts, as they are usually pretty comfy. What's your favorite short style?

Go link up and have some fun!

Need a Lift? [Thrifty Tuesday]

Happy Tuesday friends! It's another beautiful day here in Nashville! I hope you're having a great day as well! As the weather gets nicer, I grow more anxious to revamp my spring and summer wardrobe. On my to-buy list? Wedges! I have been hunting for the perfect brown, leather, strappy ones for close to 2 years. I am a little picky when it comes to this...

I don't want them to be too high. They have to be the right shade of brown. They have to be the right material. The list goes on! After such a long search, I've decided that it's finally here....I'm buying a pair this year! So, this week's Thrifty Tuesday is all about wedges!

Do you have a favorite pair of wedges? Why do you love them? Where are they from? Spill the beans!

P.s. All of these wedges are under $50!

Thrifty Tuesday [St. Patty]

Happy Tuesday evening ladies : ) Seeing as it's the week before St. Patrick's day, this week's Thrifty Tuesday will have you seeing green!

I've put together a few [affordable] St. Patrick's day outfits that are designed to be comfortable as well as cute! If you're anything like me, you'll need an outfit that you can wear all day long that can provide lasting stylish comfort! Also, if you're anywhere near TN (or anywhere in the US), then you know that the weather is absolutely unpredictable!
[My biggest hold-up when it comes to picking my outfit for Saturday is not knowing what to expect from the weather!]
Back on topic....I put together a few outfits that would be great to wear to a variety of St. Patrick's day festivities! Most items are from Old Navy, so you could easily go out any buy any of these items!

Thrifty Tuesday [Real Talk]

I don't know if I've ever completely laid this out there for my readers, but I am a recent college grad who has student loans, a decent job, a 20-something [budgeted] lifestyle, and a dream of a wonderful future! In case you don't know what this means....it means that I have to maintain a very tight ship when it comes to spending, and that I need to keep in mind my goals for the future. I have to remember that I want to own my own house someday (in the near future, please!), but I also want to go out and live it up while I still can! I also want to dress to the nines and feel my best.
via
Pretty clothes? Yes, PLEEEEASE!
Over my whole life the last few years I've learned, that if I try hard enough, I can be fashionable. I can feel great about myself. I can stay up to date on trends (or anything that I really want to do). And most importantly, I can stay on top of my budget!
via
What's my secret? I have no secrets. It's hard. Every week, day in and day out, I want to buy a new outfit. I'm convinced that, that part of me will never change. I take every opportunity to 'window shop' online. I like to create outfits, create wish lists, and find great deals. Taking my time to find the perfect item at the perfect price has taught me a TON! I have more patience, more understanding of what it takes to get what you want, and the value of a dollar. I now face most parts of my life the same way I face a shopping trip. I'm focused, I know what I want, and I know how to do research! HA! I sound like a nerd, right?
Well, I'm here to tell you that it all pays off. Today, after lots of focused savings, and allocating my money to the right places, I was able to start something I've wanted to for a while. In the spirit of Thrift Tuesday, I'm here to share with you the result of my Thriftiness.....
Yes, that's right! I opened a legit savings account today. Not one that I'm going to throw a few pennies in every now and again. A REAL life account that I'm going to focus on building. If you've ever listened to Dave Ramsey, you know about the 7 baby steps. Well, step 1 is all about your  emergency fund. I've accomplished that and a little more (part of step 2!). I'm about to pay off my first individual loan completely! Hello celebration!

How do you deal with your money? Do you have a budget? How do you stick to it??

Thrifty Tuesday [Stripes]

If you read my post yesterday then you saw the striped Madewell shirt that I posted. I have to say, I'm obsessed with it right now! I have been loving some stripes lately so this week's Thrifty Tuesday post is dedicated to stripes!
Stripes are everywhere and there are a few different styles that have been catching my eye recently. Of course I love a classic striped boat neck shirt, but I also love a good striped
t-shirt to pair with jeans and a sweater or your favorite shorts in the summer. To be honest, I've never been the type to pull a striped shirt out of my closet to get dressed up.
BUT, I will have to say, with recent styles I might end up doing that more often come this Spring & Summer!

Here are a few striped shirt options to keep you in style, as well as inside of your budget!
[All under $25]
------------------------------
What styles are you loving lately? I hate to admit it, but I am really getting pumped for spring styles!

P.s. How do you like my new Thrifty Tuesday image?

Thrifty Tuesday-Price Comparison

Welcome back to our normally programmed show post! I'm so excited to be getting back to the normal Thrifty Tuesday post. Heaven knows how much I love to shop, and doing these posts helps me because it lets me exercise my inner-shopper : )
via

This week's Thrifty Tuesday post is all about comparing. I always, always, always compare prices before I purchase. Unless it's seriously on sale or clearance priced, then I'm definitely whipping my phone out to price compare.

Today I'm comparing prices on a few popular purse trends. As I've mentioned before, I usually don't spend tons of money on trends because they're just that, trends. They change all the time and I am usually over them pretty quickly. Because I know that I'm like that, it makes it easy for me to spend less money and opt for a cheaper version of the trend. Also, I usually get tired of purses pretty quickly (other than my few good quality, classic ones), so I would hate to spend lots of money on an item that I would give or put away after only a few months.

So, here are a few popular options [splurge and deal versions] for you to drool over ; )

Left: Michael Kors Large Hamilton Frosted Jelly Tote [$268] vs.
Right: JosephM Ladies Nude Padlock Frame Bag [$44]

Top: Miu Miu Suede and leather shoulder bag [$865] vs.
Bottom: H&M Matt Bag [$47]

Left: Marc Jacobs Paradise Bag [$835] vs. Right: Warehouse Stud Trim Slouch Bag [$36]

Left: Fossil Vintage Reissue Crossbody Bag [$166] vs.
Right: Cesca 'Divine' Faux Leather Crossbody Bag [$38]

Top: Dorthy Perkins Oversized Quilted Clutch [$35] vs.
Bottom: Marc Jacobs Ginger Quilted Bag  [$440]

Left: H&M Envelope Clutch [$23] vs. Right: Marni Envelope Clutch [$278]

Top: Lulu Turnlock Wristlet [$6.90] vs. Bottom: Tory Burch Wristlet [$155]

What purse trends are you loving lately? Do you opt to buy cheaper versions of the newest trends, or do you buy the more expensive purse and carry it until it's worn out? I'd love to hear what your shopping habits are!
