Nice to meet you!

Good morning & happy Thursday! We just have one more day until we can start to celebrate the weekend. If you're anything like me, you celebrate the weekend all day Friday. That usually makes the day go by faster ;)

I decided that since I have some new followers around the blog that I would introduce myself to the newbies and try to get to know y'all a little better.{I'm taking the cue from Kym at Travel-Babbles}
Hello!!

Blogging is so much fun because we get to meet people and form bonds {and if you have blogger friends over the internet you know that those friendships are awesome}. I'm ready to get to know all of you and hopefully build relationships! I'm always open to making new friends & I love having people to chat with and share a laugh with.

Friday, is that you?

I feel like it should be Friday. Is anyone with me? (I've felt like that since Monday....)

To help me make it through the rest of the week, Ryan and I are having friends over tonight. Last week we all got together on a Thursday, so it felt like we started the weekend a little early. But this week, well, I just can't wait until Thursday night! I need to enjoy a few drinks, laugh a little, and unwind with our friends. Since we're hosting at our place, we decided to make a few snacks for everyone to enjoy. Nothing special, but crowd pleasers nonetheless :)

Chips, salsa, and queso! Photo via.
Pigs and a blanket. Photo via.
I'll also be introducing our friends to this game and I can't wait...they're going to love it!

What are you doing tonight? The usual? Or are you changing it up a bit?

P.s. We're open to buying some new board games. Any suggestions? What are your favorites?

Weekend Recap

Monday, is that you? Already? Am I the only one that thought this past weekend just flew by?! I feel like the weekend officially started on Thursday night when we met up with some of our friends at another friend's house. We ate, drank, and were merry, and played funny games until we laughed so hard we cried!
Naturally, a fun night involves some of this yummy stuff!
I wasn't sure I would make it a full day in the office on Friday (it had been a loooong week). Thankfully the rest of the sales team felt the same, so we enjoyed a small group lunch at our favorite local spot-right across the street! We had a good time and it helped us ease into the weekend!
Ryan took over the kitchen on Friday and made a yummy dinner. He continued to spoil me by agreeing to go on a little browsing/shopping trip to Target, Best Buy, and World Market. It was fun to catch up on all of the fun new clothing at Target (while Ryan was in Best Buy...I hadn't browsed unsupervised in a while Hah!). I picked up a cute pair of black flats (these) while I was there. They are pretty comfy and are a nice step up from my normal flats (they also have cute nude and sassy animal print ones too).
New shoes, new jeans, and new sweater. Feeling good today :)
I never realized how many spices World Market had until this weekend!
On Saturday I had a few hours to myself, so naturally I went thrifting! I found some great items on the cheap (will share later this week!).
While I was shopping I found this vintage Lilly shirt. I had no idea that the
brand had been around that long! Read about it here. No, I didn't buy it..
After getting together at our friend's house on Thursday, I realized
that I was in need of a set of large wine glasses. For obvious reasons!
On Saturday night we meet up with a bunch of friends at Dave & Buster's. Have you ever been? I hadn't until Saturday. It's awesome! The local one recently opened so it definitely looks great and was really fun! We had drinks, dinner, played games and even bowled while we were there. It's a really great place to get a bunch of friends together for a fun evening.
Saturday night, before going out. One of my thrifted shirts!
Watching the UofL game at the bar. We won!
Ryan playing Skee-ball.
One more drink before heading home. It was a long night!
On Sunday the boy and I slept waaaay in and caught up on housework and the dreaded laundry. We had dinner with his parents and then ended the day with a few episodes of Breaking Bad. That show is soooo good!

What did you do this weekend? Did you try any new restaurants or go anywhere new?

Weekend Recap~Cotton Blossom

Is it already Sunday? This weekend flew by! The worst part? It wasn't even that busy. We watched a few movies and ran a few errands. I have a busy week ahead and we'll be busy next weekend, so it was nice to have down time.

Friday after work I was able to high tail it to a location here in town that I knew would be a great photo opp. There is a house that sets back off of the road quite a bit and recently I got a surprise while driving by--cotton blossoms! All of a sudden the whole yard field was full of new, fluffy cotton blossoms. I'm a sucker for that type of thing, weird I know.
So, I made it back to Murfreesboro just in time after work to get a few shots of the sun setting over the the cotton field. It was great getting some practice in. Shooting the sun is a lot harder than I expected and is a whole new level for me. I realized how important practice is and that I need to get out there and try to shoot new things more often!
Saturday Ryan and I ran some errands and enjoyed the beautiful weather that we were having. While we were waiting for my car to be worked on, we walked around the square downtown and went into a few shops we had been wanting to visit, including an adorable little antique shop.
I loved seeing all of the old cast iron. I wish we had a good one.
My grandma used to have these hanging in her kitchen.
Anyone else see these a lot during their childhood?
I've had my eye out for a good old fashioned
fan to buy for a bookend or shelf piece.
I love seeing lots of the same item together :)
We stumbled upon a free admission day at our local science center so we went in and checked the place out (yup, Ryan and I are still kids at heart). They had pretty grounds behind the building, so we took a little walk too :)
Our local Petco had a vet clinic in their store this Saturday so we took advantage of the good deal. We paid almost half price for a yearly checkup with a regular vet and didn't have to deal with making an appointment or going to a vet's office. You should look into the services offered at your local Petco if you have a pet (the vet who helped us was very sweet!).
Riding in the back of the truck with the wind blowing in his hair ;)
Hanging out after the vet visit.
Last night we had a great time hanging out with our neighbors, having drinks and playing games. We really hit it off with them and we were able to meet our other neighbors that were really nice too.
It's nice to meet people that are our 'type' Lol Being in a new town can really make it tough to find new friends :)

I'm excited about having a busy week--hopefully time will fly by! Next weekend my aunt will be in town and I'll finally get to carve pumpkins :)

Hope your weekend was fun!

Weekend Recap~Warrior Dash

What a great weekend! The weather was great and the company was nice too :) We traveled to Manchester, TN for Ryan and a lot of his friends, to do the Warrior Dash!
It was a 5K with obstacles, a fire pit and a ridiculous mud pit (covered by barbed wire!). It was fun to watch and Ryan said it was a lot of fun. Maybe next year I can run with him :)

The gang before the race.

My viewing partner.

Ryan, making it through the last obstacle.

Just a little further to the finish line!

Good job!

It was so hard to stay clean there!
Sunday was full of errands, a great Thai lunch and lots of hanging out :)

Happy Monday!

10 Day Challenge~7 Wants

Happy Friday! Today is the start of a long weekend and I couldn't be happier! Time to relax, visit with friends, go to the pool, cookout and visit the cabin are in my future! Have fun everyone :)

1.) I want more photography practice! I wish I had more people to shoot and more time to dedicate towards it.

2.) In addition, I want more time to dedicate towards crafting so that I can have my own Etsy shop. That would be a dream come true :)

3.) I want a puppy that stays a puppy forever! But, who doesn't?

4.) I want to wear a new outfit everyday. I love the feeling of wearing something that is new, in style and that makes me feel great!

5.) I want all of my friends and family to live close to one another. I miss the days when everyone was right down the street from one another!

6.) I want to travel more. I would prefer to go somewhere new at least once a month (short trip) and somewhere semi-far away every 6 months or so. I looove to travel!

7.) Honestly, I want to want less! I have been doing really well with that because I have been cutting back spending lately, but I still have the urge quite frequently to just get something. I guess I get a thrill out of buying things (clothes mostly :)).
