5 on Friday {This & That}

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a great week---here's to an even better weekend!
Here's my 5 on Friday list to kick off the weekend with.
Check out the rest and link up here!
1. Lunch Break Blogging If you are anything like me (i.e. work full time, have a home to keep up, are married, etc. etc.) blogging is tough business during the week. I am thankful for lunch breaks that allow me to post this blog!

2.Weekend Plans I get to go to Louisville this weekend and see some of my favorite people. My bestie Jess and her husband, and my aunt Mary! I can't wait to be back in my Old KY Home (it's been way too long!) and to see what's new around my ol' stompin' grounds!

3. FREE Stuff...especially clothing Ryan's mom's friend has a daughter-in-law who was cleaning her closet out and donating clothes to goodwill. The nice lady that she is, she thought of me and decided to grab it all so I could try the clothes on. Turns out they all fit. Every single piece. I am now the proud new owner of 9 coats/jackets that are like new--including 2 wool coats (one from J. Crew), 2 new trench coats (black AND tan!), some work jackets, and some active wear style jackets. I felt like I was in a dream when I received them...lucky me!!

4. Fourth of July We have a friend that hosts an annual July 4th lake party that I've never been able to make it to---we are usually out of town or busy for the fourth, but not this year! I am beyond excited for a day full of water, sun, food, and the best company. Not to mention my lemon cool whip cookies {the red velvet version is over here}!

5. Summer Plans We have already taken a little road-trip this summer and have done a few other fun things around town. This time of year is so much fun for us! Between traveling to see family, traveling to see (or WITH) friends, and the fun things that are always happening around Nashville, we really have a blast! I thrive on having plans/something to look forward to, so I'm especially happy once the summer and sunshine come out for good.

If you follow me on Twitter (go here to follow along!), then you might know that I'm currently in the great city of Philadelphia! This city is gorgeous and definitely at the top of my list of cities I've traveled to for work.

Let me say one thing before I explain this post.
I'm lucky and blessed to be able to travel with my job.
I've already got a handful of trips under my belt in the four short months I've worked for this company.
BUT
I miss home. When I'm away I always miss the boy and our pup like crazy. It's tough to be apart, just because we have such a close relationship. Who knows, someday I might get used to being on the road?!

Moving on....this post is titled Here vs. There. These are the main differences of my life when I'm away. I love dressing up for a few days and seeing/meeting tons of people while on the road--but gosh, I miss my jeans + boots and just being home with the boy!

Here's to a great rest of the week and a quick trip home when it's over!

How do you get through trips on the road for your job?

Triple Travel

A few weeks ago I mentioned going out of town for a bit. Well, being out of town for a bit turned into travelling 9 out of 10 straight days.
Shew, that was tough!

We visited Ryan's brother and sister-in-law for a Mumford & Sons concert.
With my new job I got to travel to California for a few days.
When I returned to TN we continued on to Alabama to visit with a close friend.

If you shop at Trader Joe's I suggest trying these little guys.
The beautiful drive to Bristol, where the concert was. I <3 TN

Our awesome Mumford ticket book.
What a view!
Doesn't he look like he's excited? {note my sarcasm}
A street in Bristol, state street, is the state line!
State street, the state line between TN and VA!
We had yummy cupcakes at Shelbee's Vintage Cafe in Bristol.

Some vintage tobacco jars...
More vintage containers in the local cigar shop.
Isn't he cute?
The Mumford stage. Such a GREAT show!

This is what a 5:50 am flight looks like :)
Almost there! The west coast is so much different than TN.
Some amazing coffee.
The weather was perfect :)
I met Mickey!
We stayed close to Disney, so we saw/heard their nightly fireworks.

Of course I had to Skype with both of my boys while I was gone!
I tried coconut water for the first time. And last time. Yuck!

Doesn't everyone start the weekend off with a margarita?
This was my 1st beer-garita.
The boys. Out at our favorite bar in Birmingham.
The boy's best man :)
You have to have brunch on a rainy Saturday morning..
And what's a grown up brunch with out bloody marys...
and chocolate milk?
Noms.
My favorite :)
Jon with his pet duck!

I had a great time each place I went, but it was SO nice to take several naps after getting back home.
Where's the last place you traveled?
