Foggy Bottom...Nashville Mornings

Do you have a favorite kind of morning? Kind of like a favorite kind of day, but just the early hours? Most people would say they like a sunny day, about 75 degrees...maybe even on a beach. I dig days like that.
But when it comes to mornings, I'm totally different. I absolutely LOVE foggy mornings in Nashville. I drive through Warner park on my way to work and it's just slightly hilly, so when it's foggy and the sun is shining behind the fog...it's heaven to drive through in the morning.
See what I mean?

Do you get foggy mornings where you live? What makes you happy during your morning commute?

{M.L. Rose}

I have to start this post off by sharing that this is my 300TH post!! I can't believe it...that's a lot of posting! I am to have a fun place to write and share---and I love the blogging friends I've made along the way! Thanks for reading!!

In Nashville {or ANY city for that matter} it's important to have your favorite restaurants staked out. When it's time to pick a place for dinner after a long work day, you gotta know of a few good places to go that won't let you down!

One of our go-to places in Nashville is M.L. Rose.
This new-ish Charlotte Ave. spot is close enough to home to not feel like we have to make a big effort to get there, yet it's not right down the street from our house, so we feel like we're actually getting out. It's the perfect mix of trendy, sophisticated, and familiar.
The brisket wrap comes with a tomato lime ranch dip that is delicious!
The boy agreed to take a few pictures of my outfit that night...little did he know they would be included in a blog post! :) Here's a few pictures of one of my favorite Kohl's summer tops and new DKNY shorts (from TJMaxx, of course!).
Yes, I included an "outtake" pic. Just keepin' it real!
Also, it's really hard to have someone else take your #OOTD pictures...shew!
Stay tuned for a few more Nashville restaurant posts in the coming months!

Weekend Recap

Monday, is that you? Already? Am I the only one that thought this past weekend just flew by?! I feel like the weekend officially started on Thursday night when we met up with some of our friends at another friend's house. We ate, drank, and were merry, and played funny games until we laughed so hard we cried!
Naturally, a fun night involves some of this yummy stuff!
I wasn't sure I would make it a full day in the office on Friday (it had been a loooong week). Thankfully the rest of the sales team felt the same, so we enjoyed a small group lunch at our favorite local spot-right across the street! We had a good time and it helped us ease into the weekend!
Ryan took over the kitchen on Friday and made a yummy dinner. He continued to spoil me by agreeing to go on a little browsing/shopping trip to Target, Best Buy, and World Market. It was fun to catch up on all of the fun new clothing at Target (while Ryan was in Best Buy...I hadn't browsed unsupervised in a while Hah!). I picked up a cute pair of black flats (these) while I was there. They are pretty comfy and are a nice step up from my normal flats (they also have cute nude and sassy animal print ones too).
New shoes, new jeans, and new sweater. Feeling good today :)
I never realized how many spices World Market had until this weekend!
On Saturday I had a few hours to myself, so naturally I went thrifting! I found some great items on the cheap (will share later this week!).
While I was shopping I found this vintage Lilly shirt. I had no idea that the
brand had been around that long! Read about it here. No, I didn't buy it..
After getting together at our friend's house on Thursday, I realized
that I was in need of a set of large wine glasses. For obvious reasons!
On Saturday night we meet up with a bunch of friends at Dave & Buster's. Have you ever been? I hadn't until Saturday. It's awesome! The local one recently opened so it definitely looks great and was really fun! We had drinks, dinner, played games and even bowled while we were there. It's a really great place to get a bunch of friends together for a fun evening.
Saturday night, before going out. One of my thrifted shirts!
Watching the UofL game at the bar. We won!
Ryan playing Skee-ball.
One more drink before heading home. It was a long night!
On Sunday the boy and I slept waaaay in and caught up on housework and the dreaded laundry. We had dinner with his parents and then ended the day with a few episodes of Breaking Bad. That show is soooo good!

What did you do this weekend? Did you try any new restaurants or go anywhere new?

Welcome Back!

Welcome back blogger friends : ) How was your Christmas and your New Years Eve? Did you have a great time making new memories with your favorite people, eating, and taking photos? Was Santa good to you? Did you have an awesome first kiss at midnight on Saturday? I was able to enjoy all of the above!

The last two weeks were fun and went by waaaay too quickly! I had a great time visiting with some of my favorites, we got to move into our new place, I received some great gifts, and we even made it through the moving weekend without any major snags [it was supposed to rain AND we weren't really sure the new couch would fit through the new front door--but no issues!].
Yes, I need a nap after the holidays! via
Today I'll be back at work for 4 days in a row....after all of my time off, 4 days seems like an eternity! Let's hope that it doesn't drag by!

I hate to make this short and sweet, but I have to run - I have tons to do to get started on an awesome 2012! I promise to do a better update soon (including a few details about a meet up with a few sweet bloggers, Alison and Cambron, at Blogger Blitz Nashville)!
Here's a sneak peak of our Christmas morning.
[This picture was developed from film (not a memory card)!]

Happy Tuesday!

Weekend Update!

Well, it's Monday! We made it through another crazy, busy, football filled weekend : ) We had great weather and lots of fun. When the girls made it to town, it was straight to Jack's BBQ downtown for a very yummy lunch. Jack's was a tiny place with BIG taste! There was a good atmosphere and I will definitely go back for more BBQ! We hung out, shopped a little and then had a great time downtown. We had a few snags along the way, but I was happy to get to see everyone all at once.
Jack's BBQ
My hair looks crazy, but here we are walking around downtown!
To top off an already fun day, Saturday afternoon the Cards upset West Virginia @ West Virginia! I was so happy and proud of them for pulling off the win. Go Cards!!
P.s. I can't believe Bama lost to LSU!
Sorry for the bad pictures, these two were taken with my iPhone.
Hanging out in the hotel room before our shopping trip :)
