No Clouds Allowed

What a weekend! It's our first weekend at home since the wedding....and the first non-crazy one in about a month. We have reeeeally enjoyed the down time and can't wait to have a few more in the coming weeks!

Although it was a short week, it felt like I worked a few extra days. Catching up after being out of the office for 8 day is INSANE! To make it a little easier on us, we went out for dinner Thursday for a little relaxation time. We went to one of our favorite places not far from home and ate on the patio. And the best part? They had some live music that we really liked. It was perfect!
One of  my favorite outfits right now.

Friday morning started with a trip to the DMV to have my drivers license changed. I was happy enough about changing my name that I wasn't too bothered by having to stand in the long line. Good thing I didn't get too worked up about it--I lucked out and got the 2nd number of the day and I was out of there in about 20 minutes! #Jackpot

Friday night we met up at a friend's house before going out to a super fun concert at Mercy Lounge followed by an impromptu (and super fun) night downtown. The band we went to see was The Black Cadillacs--their sound is very similar to The Black Keys.

Isn't he cute? I'm still getting used to (and LOVING) calling him my husband!
We originally planned to go on a canoeing/camping trip Saturday, but the weather had other ideas! We had rain ALL weekend! We are thankful it wasn't extreme like it has been in other parts of the US, plus it gave us the perfect excuse to stay inside and relax. So, Saturday was full of errands, housework, and lots of catching up on rest. We took a chance on a movie we weren't too sure about....Sinister. We totally lucked out! It kept us on the edge of our seats the whole time and the ending was great.
Family nap with the boys.
Today was pretty much another perfect day. Breakfast, lots of Thank You cards (all of them actually!), more errands, and family dinner.

Hope your weekend was just as relaxing!

Friendsgiving in Louisville

Happy Monday, lovelies! You know, there are just a few more Mondays left in 2012. I can't believe this year is almost over. To me 2012 has been one of the longest years, yet one of the shortest years. What do you think? Have you been counting down until January 1st 2013? I am excited about next year, but it's always bittersweet to close the chapter of another year around the holidays.

Speaking of holidays--my Louisville friends and I have been celebrating Friendsgiving for the last 5 years or so (longer for some of them!). This weekend was the annual get-together, and boy was it a good time!

Ryan and I headed up on Saturday morning and enjoyed an easy interstate trip (which almost never happens during the 2.5 hour drive north!). We got to town just in time to stop by one of our favorite pizza places to grab lunch while we watched our beloved Cardinals basketball team play.
If you're ever in Louisville and need lunch, check out Boombozz!
After that it was onto watching/taste-testing helping the bestie and her husband cook up a couple yummy desserts and sides for the Friendsgiving dinner that night.

Dinner was so much fun! This year was our biggest group (in the time I've been attending), and it was a ton of fun sharing our friend-traditions with new people and enjoying them with the usual gang.
My MOH Jess.
Also, I'm IN LOVE with my early Christmas present, a mustard yellow infinity scarf!!
Happy Friendsgiving!
How cute are they?
Y'all don't take scooter rides after dinner?
Sunday was a blast! If there was ever a time that I would need a sarcastic font, it was 2 seconds ago. Sunday was not a fun day. Car trouble, rain, lots of phone calls, and a tow truck turned our 2.5 hour trip home into a 5 hour trip. Thank goodness for some really great friends that gave us a ride home!
Here's to getting some good news today about fixing my little buddy.

I guess I can't say Sunday was a total loss. Our favorite football team made it to the Sugar Bowl!!

[Sweet] Weekend

This weekend, like most, flew right by. Come Sunday night we found ourselves wondering where it had gone. And while I wish it had stayed around longer, I did have a great time this weekend!

I'm linking up with Jenni over at Story of My Life for a little instagram fun to recap our weekend!

My hair is getting longer everyday and I'm curling it more often!
We went on a tour of the new-ish Corsair Distillery. Read about them here!
Thank for the passes Jess!
The first beer of the day-from a Chatanooga brewery!
The sweet lights along the brick wall <3
The awesome floors in the old Marathon Motor Works building.
The distillery is located in the historic Marathon Motor Works building!
One of the awesome signs inside.
The awesome sign on the outside. Love the look of the building!
Also located in the Marathon Motor Works village-Antique Archaeology
While most of their stuff wasn't for sale, it was fun to see it all.
Does anyone else watch the show? Remember when they picked this??
Carnival game figurines!
Awesome lights!
Fun display around the front door.
Sunday was very laid back and started off with yummy
pancakes (as big as your head)!
Sunday was also full of crafting and creating for the Etsy shop.
I also made (with Ry's mom's help) a kindle sleeve.  Love it!
Saturday was a ton of fun with going to the distillery, Jack's BBQ, and East Nashville (to check out some cute stores)...we wrapped up the day with a funny movie, Take Me Home Tonight (it's funny-watch it!). Sunday was calm and productive. I caught up on some Etsy work, helped Ryan's mom make an awesome Kindle sleeve (I'm making the next one!), and even worked on a website a little. I was happy to have some down time this weekend, but I wish it was still Sunday! Hopefully this week won't be toooo crazy.

What did you do this weekend? Anything new and exciting?
