Home Sweet Home

After much deliberation, we've decided to move forward with moving (before out lease is up at our current apartment). We are planning ahead for a few bumps in the road.....hopefully we'll be lucky enough to avoid them, but we sure won't count on it.

With all of the talk about moving and looking at apartment after apartment, I just can't help but daydream about the house that I will someday call home. No, I don't know where it will be. Or exactly how big it will be. Or when I will get to move into said house. But I do know that I will fill it with my favorite styles! I love daydreaming about couches, wall colors, shingle styles and even some landscaping. I think my style can be called modern chic/country. I love anything that has a rustic, warm, cozy, worn-in, welcoming or natural feel to it. Naturally I spend tons of time drooling looking over photos and ideas on Pinterest.

I believe that there's an art to combining rustic/pretty, livable/comfortable and lots of texture. It's important to have things that are usable (not broken down or too "shabby") but also pretty to look at. I also believe that nothing should be uncomfortable! You know that feeling you get when you put your favorite pair of jeans on or pull your favorite sweater on in the winter? That's how I like to feel in a room. Comfy and like I don't ever want to leave.

P.s. Did anyone else find comfort in small spaces as a kid? I use to get as cozy and as tucked into one spot as I could when I was a kid. I loved to be crammed behind a caddy corner arm chair or in the closet with my favorite book! I definitely want a small nook to call my own when I have a house.

Where did you hang out as a kid? What's the most important space in your now or future home??

Well I pretty much just love everything you posted! Totally agree that there is an 'art' to getting that perfect balance of worn/cozy and new

We have the style when it comes to decorating - I love it! :)

It's so easy to dream about getting the pretty stuff!

I'd have to say the kitchen is my domain. That and my bed that's currently occupied by a dozen body pillows. It's a wonder there's even room for my husband, me and my ginormous bump.

New follower from the fest. Swing by my neck of the woods sometime. :)

Not only do we have our blog names in common, but we also both dream about owning a home some day :) And your taste is impeccable! There's nothing I want more in life than to decorate my house someday and fill it up with lots of love!

I seriously need a nook. Case in point-it was so gloomy and sad outside today...a reading nook would have cheered me right up :) They should be mandatory!
